Blocking Text Ads with Privoxy

I like to decide for myself what I get to see on the screen. Sometimes I prefer not to see advertising. That's when I use Privoxy as a filter while I surf the web.

While text ads like Google's AdWords are far less intrusive than traditional banner ads, but still I sometimes prefer a page without. Thus I have created a few rules to filter them out with Privoxy.

Add the following lines to Privoxy's user.action file:

{+filter{google_adwords} }
And this filter definition goes into default.filter.

Those rules depend deeply on the way Google builds it's pages and that will likely change some day. In that case come back for a new set of filter rules (or better yet, send me a patch).
